Preview: The super rich City are going to face their biggest UEFA Champions League match today at the Etihad Stadium. City need to beat Bayern Munich if they are to have any chance of reaching the knockout stages but even victory will not guarantee qualification with the Blues relying on Spanish side Villarreal picking up a point at home to Napoli. All this could have been simpler if they had not gotten beaten by Napoli but now they face table toppers Bayern Munich one point behind Napoli. All they can hope is to scratch out a win against Munich and hope Villareal do them a favor. Manchester City’s Premier League form continues to be sensational as they stay unbeaten and five points clear at the top with a far superior goal difference over all other clubs so if they can get through to the knock out phase they can still go a long way in this competition. They will be though hoping Micah Richards recovers from the injury he has been suffering from. Richards has been in great form for City this term but he is struggling to recover from a calf problem and he will have to prove his fitness before he is included in the starting line-up. Aleksandar Kolarov has also been ruled out with a groin problem leaving the way clear for Gael Clichy to continue at left-back.
