Preview: With all the big clubs playing their matches on Saturday and winning too we see on Sunday the clash of two mid table teams Everton and Stoke. Both teams have done reasonable well over the years to stay consistently in the premier league on small budgets. Going into the game the two are seperated by a single point with Everton having played a game less. Also Stoke City are coming after a mid week Europa Cup match and will be hoping they can avoid their post-European curse and claim their second Premier League victory in a row. The Potters’ league form has suffered as a result of their European adventures so far this season, with the team losing every game after a midweek Europa League outing. Stoke boss Tony Pulis is expecting another tough away fixture as the squad battles the physical demands of three games in a week.
Result: Everton 1-0 Stoke City
Everton Manager David Moyes has lost a few and will be boosted by the return of Sylvain Distin, Phil Neville, Royston Drenthe and Jack Rodwell hoping to get his team back to winning ways. Jonathan Woodgate will be making a comeback from injury for Stoke but still at Goodison Park away from home after a Europa league mid week match Stoke City are likely to be beaten in this one with a scoreline probably 2-1 in Everton’s favor.
