Bolton 0-5 Manchester United - 10th Sept 2011

Bolton are set to welcome the reigning champions, Manchester United at the Reebok stadium this Saturday.

Bolton began their campaign brilliantly, recording a 4-0 victory against Queen's Park Rangers away at Loftus Road. Gary Cahill gave his side the lead on the stroke of half time when his curling shot found the net of QPR. After that a self-goal by Gabbidon and an attempt to avoid by Kevin Davies put Wanderers in an invincible position.

In their second match, Bolton played at home against the title candidates Manchester City. Although the result of the match was 3-2 ,Bolton are not demoralized, as they returned from a three-goal deficit. Ivan Klasnic reduced the deficit on 39 minutes and the teams went to the interval with the visitors leading 3-1. Kevin Davies scored Bolton's second, the last match, for 62 minutes to take the fight to Mancini's squad. Bolton was especially impressive with quick attacks that were the defenders of the city on the hop.

For their third match, Bolton visited Anfield and was pushed back to early, when Liverpool scored on 15 minutes through a Henderson strike, the only moment of the first half. Eight minutes after the interval, the visitors found themselves three goals down, they found it difficult to cope with the fierce pace set by the Reds. A goal by Klasnic was small consolation for Bolton who will face another challenge in the form of Manchester United on Sunday, although before a supportive home crowd.

The reigning champions began their campaign on a positive note against West Brom, with a goal on the 13th minute from Wayne Rooney. But after hosts West Brom drew in 37 minutes by Long, the Red Devils held them at bay for more than 40 minutes before an own goal by Reid gave United the win, with barely 10 minutes to go.

Their second match saw a very interesting encounter at Old Trafford provided their home fans with a commanding 3-0 win against Tottenham. After a barren first half, Welbeck gave a lead on 61st minute. Anderson's strike at 76th minute which put the hosts 2-0 ahead, Rooney scored his second goal in as many games, 11 minutes later, to drive the last nail in the coffin of Spurs'.

After United's performance against Spurs has shocked the fans in their home match against Arsenal last week which was icing. A 8-2 win over Gunners' provided Arsenal with the worst loss in more than one hundred years underlined the resolve of the United States, in their current campaign. Rooney scored a Hat trick as young, Park, Nani and welbeck each scored a goal in the rout.

Last season, United had a poor away record, but given their current form, Bolton will have to be at their best to be able to take away any points from Sunday's game.
