Chelsea 1-2 Liverpool -20 November, 2011

Chelsea vs Liverpool Match Preview Its a Super Sunday for both Chelsea and Liverpool.  Chelsea go into this game with a hard fought win against struggling Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park. A solitary goal from Frank Lampard ensured Chelsea got back to winning ways after back-to-back defeats to QPR and Arsenal that has really destroyed their league campaign so far.  Liverpool had to settle with a frustrating goalless draw against Swansea, a game which Liverpool should have won like many other draws they have racked up.
Liverpool are on an eight-match unbeaten run but still find themselves outside of the top four due to some frustrating draws against newly promoted teams.  Both teams are just separated by three points with Chelsea 4th and Liverpool 6th in the League table making this an extremely important match. A win for Chelsea (if Newcastle lose to Man City on Saturday) will take Chelsea back into the 3rd spot but if Chelsea lose to Liverpool and if Arsenal and Tottenham win their respective games then Chelsea could find themselves in 7th place in the League table so you can see the potential this game can have on the league table.  All eyes again would be on one man FERNANDO TORRES.

It was Torres who scored twice against Chelsea for Liverpool last season but since his signing with Chelsea Torres continues to perform at a very mediocre level and you sometimes wonder if he is the player we knew he was with Liverpool and Athletico Madrid. The outcome of this fixture will depend on Torres performance alot. If Torres score Chelsea can be expected a 2-1 win or else Liverpool likely to win this 1-0 and heap more misery on Chelsea.
Result: Chelsea 1-2 Liverpool
34'  0 - 1 M. Rodriguez
55'  1 - 1   Sturridge
87' 1-  2 Johnson
